A crappy look or old transition house can turn it to a contemporary look? yes, we can, PYA was commissioned by our client to turn a old transitional home to a new look with room Addtiion in the front and back and convert to garage to ADU.
Not only we add substantial square footage to the house, but also completed remodeling inside of house. Make a open kitchen concept. by also keep existing roof line with flat room and parapet approach we created a minimalist design.
Interested approach, because main house addition is only 500 SF, we thought we don’t have to do storm water remediation. But city calculated roof area instead of building area, so we just simply make zero roof overhang and make sure it is less than 500 SF to avoid additional cost. it turns out not too bad.
